Andante (Un-dawn-tay)
Description: DMH dilute orange with white
Born: April 10, 2026
Gender: Male
History:
Andante was born not long after midnight to Rhapsody, a highly socialized stray taken in by PAW. We had hoped that ‘Rho’ was not pregnant, as we suspected she was unspayed. She was indeed pregnant. During the night of April 9th/10th, she gave birth to five kittens. Andante (the term for a musical movement that is at a ‘walking pace’) came along leisurely as the third or fourth born.
Personality:
This guy is smart. He and his siblings spent most of their first weeks in a room to themselves and their mother. But when they were released periodically to explore and meet other cats, Andante guessed the purpose and workings of a door quickly. He even has been pulling at the door’s hinges; we think he may have figured out that if he removes the pin, the door will come off… He also determined the purpose of handles, and has been reaching for cupboard handles to open them. Thank goodness he can’t reach them – yet. Oh, and he sometimes hides in order to rush the door of his room when it opens. Smart, like we mentioned. But he is also a tough guy, liking a good chase or wrestling match with his siblings. His favourite pose is to rear up on his hind legs and flail his forelegs, like a six-inch lion. He’s ferocious. Well, he thinks he is. Actually, he’s a softy who purrs when petted and stroked. The pictures of Andante are a couple of weeks old, so he’s grown a bit but is still as cute as can be. Current likenesses will be posted soon. He, like his beautiful mum, Rhapsody, and siblings, Presto, Allegro, Vivace and Largo, will be ready for adoption in July (see their respective profiles.)
Please Note:
- The $250 adoption fee covers first vaccinations, spay/neuter surgery and micro-chip.
- If the kitten is adopted before its booster is due (30 days from first vaccination), the adopter must arrange and pay for booster themselves.
- When it is time for the kitten’s spay/neuter surgery, a representative from PAW will be in touch with adopter to co-ordinate the date.
- All surgeries will be done at Highlands Pet Hospital in Lethbridge unless the adopter lives out of the area. For those cases, arrangements will be discussed individually.
- If adopter chooses to add pre-anesthetic blood-work prior to spay/neuter surgery, payment for that is the responsibility of the adopter and is payable to the veterinary clinic the morning of surgery.
- Post-surgery, adopter must contact PAW to request change in contact information for micro-chip (no charge)
