History:

Talya doesn’t have much history, unfortunately: she was found abandoned.

Personality:

Talya’s personality is emerging. We know this because she’s starting to have fun and let her guard down. She was isolated from other cats for a couple of weeks until she was health-checked, snap tested (all negative) and vaccinated.

During that time she was treated for an eye infection which she had upon intake. It likely started as something viral. After two rounds of antibiotics with not much improvement, our veterinarian switched the drops to a newer treatment called Cidofovir Ophthalmic which “is a topical antiviral medication used to treat viral infections of the eye”. The treatment is going very well – the best sign of recovery being that Talya has become more active and inter-active. The new drops don’t sting like the other ones did.

She’s a sweet little cat and has discovered that being on her person’s shoulder is kind of fun. She’s also playing with her other foster friends now, although Felix is a big boy and the girls, Talya and Ever, don’t encourage his wrestling games.  

Talya is showing us that she makes friends quickly, so a lonely, playful cat would benefit from her companionship.
