Loki
Colour: DSH Black
Born: October 4, 2023
Gender: Neutered Male, microchipped
History:
Loki came to be with PAW when his pregnant mother was taken in. His other siblings and his mom have all been adopted.
Personality:
First, it must be stated that Loki has feline leukemia (FeLV). This is caused by a virus which can be transmitted to other cats, though not to humans or any other species. But FeLV positive cats can live a good and full life, especially with good care – balanced diet, indoors only, health checks and LOVE. Loki has no sign of illness; you wouldn’t know he has FeLV by watching him. He would be a wonderful addition to a family who is looking for a positive and happy little fellow with the possibility of years ahead of him. Or, perhaps, there is a lonely cat diagnosed with FeLV who needs a friend, a playmate. Loki would be perfect for that role.
Why would Loki be a perfect companion for such a cat? Because he is one energetic and playful youngster! His foster guardian says that Loki is the “zoomiest” cat she knows. His appetite is strong – “very robust” is the exact description; maybe it’s because he wants to get through meals and back to playing. Or is it get through playing and back to eating? Then again, he may just want some time with his people, since he is very social with them, trusting and sweet-tempered. When play time is over, he’ll want to be on your lap or your shoulder or sleep beside you in your bed. He’s a super nice little fellow. His lovely black coat is soft and glossy.
PAW will cover all veterinary costs for Loki, and be available to respond to concerns and questions for any reason. Caring for and loving a little cat like Loki – no matter the duration – is a vital part of rescue. It’s also the part you don’t hear a lot about because it is very SAD to know their life is likely to be shorter than hoped. But young Loki doesn’t know anything about sad. He greets each day in his usual happy way, living large in each moment. We want the same for him as any other cat – to know love for as long as that may be.
We would be very grateful if someone were to be interested in giving Loki a permanent foster home. He will return your love a thousand fold. In all ways, he is a truly remarkable young cat.
